Young talents, a passion for high quality coffee, and perhaps a bit of a sweet tooth has brought together the team behind the project, Azarosa. One of the newest additions to the Baja culinary scene, is this little mobile slice of heaven. Partners Diana Jimenez, chef Adria Montaño, and Bernardo Figueroa have joined forces to showcase their unique talents, and spread the love and accessibility to a great cup of joe. Bernardo has traveled around Mexico, and South America enhancing his knowledge and coffee expertise. As he prepared our drinks, it was inspiring to hear about his own experiences, and his growing love for the product. Azarosa kicked off its opening during the Vendimias in Baja's wine country, and is currently packing up and headed to the streets of Ensenada.

I asked Diana to speak a bit on the inspiration behind Azarosa, and she stated, "We want to offer people a little sweet spot in their day to day, using the absolute best quality product, and while doing so offering something different. We try to have interesting coffee cocktails, and inventive desserts in addition to the basic espresso menu."

Speaking of the coffee based mixology, we tried out the Espadin: Espresso, mezcal, orange, and chocolate on the rocks. Absolutely amazing! Every single component came through, which made for a smooth and refreshing beverage. The heat of the end of summer and early fall in Valle de Guadalupe does not stand a chance!

Keep your eyes peeled, as there are immediate plans for launching a coffee roaster and the addition of selling those beans. In the near future, there is also talk of expanding the project to more than just one mobile truck traveling around Baja.
